A little bit retro... Transformers Takara PS2

My PS2 Set up.

After acquiring a Japanese PS2 game i had been after for some time, i decided to dust off the PS2 and bring it into the living room and set it up.

After messing around with the HDTV to get the PS2 picture set up i was good to go.

Or so i thought....

Turns out my soft mod will not allow me to play the disc...... FUCK...

I had to turn to the internet for information on what my options now were, it was looking like it was going to either be doing a mod chip on the console myself or trying my luck on eBay to find a Japanese console to play it on.

After some googling i found out that i could in fact copy the game to an .iso file and then run a patch on the .iso then burn to a blank dvd for the soft modded PS2 to play it.

Now this would kill two birds with one stone, keep the copy of the game mint for me and give me the ability to play the game as well.

Now before we go any further i'm not going to pretend i know all the legality of burning a copy of the game to play on a soft modded console. As far as i could see on Google so long as i own the original game i am more than allowed to copy the game for back up purposes.

After a long battle and multiple failures i finally found some luck using a copy of a program called "DVD Decrypter"

With the disc read, patched and burn't it was time to play the game.

But before we get into that i think it would only be fair to anyone out there that's interested to see the original game.
